Reminders
The next meeting will take place on January 28 at 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church at the
corner of Church Street and Courthouse Square. Please note that the parking spaces along the back
wall of the church parking lot are leased and must not be used (The Church staff will ask people to
move their cars if they are found in those spaces). If the lot is full there is metered parking along
Church St., and the front entrance is usually open. There is handicapped access from the rear of the
church.

The purpose of the Brockville M.E Association is to provide support and information to sufferers of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Fibromyalgia, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, and their families.
Our objectives are to:
- provide support for those affected by debilitating diseases, illnesses and conditions (specifically: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis [Chronic Fatigue Syndrome], Fibromyalgia, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities), by offering education and counseling, and by establishing mutual support groups.
- provide life management counseling and other support services to assist persons with these disabilities to become more independent in the community.
- provide support and encouragement to persons with these disabilities by offering programs in individual development and integration into the community.
- provide relief to persons with disabilities by developing and implementing recreation, education and social integration programs for the disabled.
- educate the public on these debilitating conditions and the needs of persons with disabilities by providing seminars and by collecting and disseminating information on the topic.
The Brockville ME Association initiated the pool-therapy program "Keep Moving-Keep Mobile."
We provide support, speakers, a monthly newsletter, and maintain an extensive library, which includes books, videos, and tapes.
These resources cover a wide range of topics such as:
- definitions of the conditions
- various forms of exercise
- treatment and medication options
- maintenance of mental health when dealing with illness
- meditation
- chronic pain
- diet and illness oriented cookbooks
- financial management
- seminars held on a number of subjects related to the illnesses.
We also maintain a resource directory of helpful professionals.
